Wheat Ridge is a residential suburb close to Denver and one of the last stops before the Rocky Mountains. In the late 1850s, it started as a rest stop for travelers during the Gold Rush, then later became known as “Carnation City” in the mid-1900s. Its convenient location offers easy access to natural attractions, landmarks, and downtown Denver. It is a family-friendly community with its downtown area on West 38th Avenue with a good mix of shops, restaurants, and entertainment.

For outdoors enthusiasts, you can take advantage of multiple parks, trails, and campgrounds. One of these is Clear Creek Trail. This trail is incredibly popular for bird watching, hiking, or biking and is considered an easy trail to complete. A remarkable aspect of this trail is that it is a long stretch that connects several cities along the way, from Golden to Commerce City.
